This past Week’s Tech Gossip Apple Goes ARM, Googles goes Andromeda and French Man goes Ballistic…

This is the second attempt at publishing this blog, the app used to compose the blog the first time rather than publishing the entry lost the entry… Oh well, gives me more typing practice ha ha ha well here goes a revised selection of the gossip (alleged news) from the past week …

Apple to give their earnings report October 27th…

Yeah, it’s that time again, Apple’s quarterly earnings coming up at the end of this month.  Will it give any indication to the sales of the iPhone 7?  We may get an indication.

Lenovo lays off hundreds of Moto (Motorola) employee’s…

Had to be expected,  they didn’t get the contract for one of the Google ‘Pixel’ phones (expect them to be sans-headphone jack).  The Moto Z was simply their design and they plan to launch it anyway but it does have an impact for them and this may be the final Moto branded phone to hit the market if it ever gets to market.

Photo’s leaked of Google’s Pixel Phone…

Thank you, they’re leaking photo’s of a phone other than the iPhone! Expect it to be similar specification to the Moto Z… enough said, it’s the eve of the device launch, expect a tablet too.   PS, sans 3.5mm Headphone Jack.

Blackberry will Launch new Android Smartphone, someone got that wrong…

Wow did International Business Times get that one totally wrong,  As we all reminisce about Blackberry and our favorite device from them as they make the decision to stop producing hardware and focus on software and enterprise, if IBT can get something so badly wrong and proved wrong within days should you trust any other of their predictions.  I WOULDN’T.

SNAPCHAT becomes SNAP and SNAP launch Camera Glasses…

A return of people and businesses throwing a fit at idiots taking images on the sly of them.  At least these glasses are so ugly they can be spotted from miles.  That aside, Snapchat renamed themselves to a more meaningful name rather than named after their chat app indicating they may be creating further app’s and expanding into other fields.

Verizon employee caught selling customer phone records, now an ex-employee…

Is this anything to be expected, there are people that abuse others privacy everywhere and it’s only ever going to be a matter of time before an employee sees selling you call data or personal information to a 3rd party for cash.   Sometimes these companies make it far too easy for them to do it though and Verizon needs to hold themselves accountable for allowing it to happen.

Was Apple’s decision to not lobby an attributing factor to them being targeted by the EU over Taxes?…

Seems that Apple just don’t lobby enough,  was it the lack of ‘greasing the gears’ of EU bureaucracy that contributed to them being targeted.  According to some new outlets it may be the whole crux of the matter, they didn’t pay bribes to the people that mattered in the EU system.

Hewlett Packard called on to disable their Ink cartridge self destruct sequence…

Yes, the EFF has asked HP to turn off this feature of their cartridges.  It’s HP’s money making scam to keep people buying their cartridges and it is dubious as to whether HP will acknowledge the request.

Are Samsung developing their S Pen into a removable speaker?…

I’m keeping quiet about this rumor,  it’s so tempting to mock them.  Could they be pairing it with an exploding phone battery to create a bug and grenade combo for spies? ha ha, what are they doing to us.

Are Class Action’s becoming a normal thing for Tech Companies to fight?…

This seems to be the case,  The “Touch disease” class action has got a brother or sister case (you pick the sex and don’t go on about the other 185 sexual identifications) with Canada now having one too.  Will this become a normal thing for tech companies angry over the slightest issue.  Samsung has one over the exploding phone issue too and I’m sure other companies are headed for them too.

There doesn’t seem to be a week where I get a notice saying I am eligible to be part of a class action (Hmmm, should stop buying shit).

Can Apple be held liable for texting while driving…

Yeah I spoke about this and again I say no.  You decide for yourself, it’s your choice just like drink driving is a choice you make, you take responsibility for your own actions, grow the F*** up.

Google may be turning it’s back on Android, or is it? Andromeda slips towards the front…

Yes, it seems that Google may be looking to consolidate it’s two operating systems into a single system, is it going to continue developing Android and Chrome as well?

Personally I’d say they are and that Andromeda will be specifically for Google branded products while Android and Chrome are for the 3rd party vendors and will be shipped without the App store requiring a download of Googles services by choice of the user.  A way of getting out of the the Anti-Trust issues they are currently embroiled with the EU over.

Netflix goes down, people freak out, don’t know why…

Every time Netflix stops working people get all upset, I quit using Netflix after I realized that they were operating a carousel system for Movies and Shows.  They’d take off some movies and shows and then 2 months later they would return as if they were ‘new’, you’d find yourself watching them again because they didn’t show as watched.  There was very little new content added it was mostly just re-added content.   I reached the point that I was rarely watching anything and the $8 a month was better spent in my pocket.

So when everyone freaked out I just smiled and carried on as normal like most other people did.  Yeah Everyone meant the writer of the article, these journalists are so panicked and easily stressed.

Twitter for Sale…

and the rumors abound as to whom is looking to buy it.  Disney, Salesforce, Microsoft, and Apple are among the many that have been touted by journalists desperate to get page views.  They should be like me and be happy with the 2 page views he normally gets.

PokemonGo becomes PokemonNo…

Yes it’s sad to say, well that’s a lie it’s not sad to say, that Pokemon Go, as some including myself said, was just a Summer Break novelty and it’s  allowed itself to mire in reliability issues at server side and offering updates and features that just don’t seem to be arriving and people got sick of waiting, something better has attracted these fickle freaks that played it and they have moved on.

Apple Airpods in demand, Apple watch series 2 not as much…

Contrary to the naysayers and haters (mostly journalists) there is far more demand for the Apple Airpods regardless of how negative they try and depict them.  Is it because most home users have made use of Bluetooth and loved it and the Airpods are actually good value compared to similar products from rivals.

Over in France a rather irate French Man smashes up an Apple Store…

Seems that the old adage, don’t make a French Man angry, still applies.  A young man irate at Apple not supply a free two year warranty for their products decided to take it on himself to protest and smashed up the iPhones, iPad’s and Mac’s in an Apple store in France.  He used a metal ball used for one of their quaint yard games.

This young man really had the balls to use use his ball but it doesn’t solve his problem.

I said it before they did, Apple macOS Sierra Kernel has ARM processor support…

Yes, over a month ago, in fact the first entry to the blog when I decided to try blogging again I predicted that Apple would tentatively move towards switching from Intel processors to ARM processors.

Yes the MacBook that everyone complained was overpriced underpowered and limited to a single connector was the target of my prediction.  I believe that they are planning a migration and full details can be gotten at

https://techstickles.blogspot.com/2016/08/is-apple-macbook-indicator-to-apples.html

Does this indicate that you heard it here first or does it prove that there is a ‘reality distortion field’ and if you keep saying it then it will happen.  Maybe Steve Jobs was smart and knew how to activate it. lol.

And with that…

I bade you adieu, there was again so much stuff in the tech world and I just picked a few of them.  I’ll leave it to you to search for the actual articles, Google etc all need your search activity for their antitrust fines.

I’ll continue posting during the week my ravings, rants and opinions to my two regular readers and just remember, when they say Analyst they’re called Analysts because what they predict and say tends to come out their backsides just where many of my opinions come from.
